Company StoryTeam Vision Virtual was officially launched in May 2008 after a year of planning and development. It was the release of Google Earth™ in 2005 that initially inspired Team Vision’s founder to set out to create the first fully interactive, 3D travel planning web site for Hawaii. In mid-2008, an exclusive agreement was formed with CyberCity3D, one of the largest contributors of 3D buildings on Google Earth™, and development began on hundreds of high-quality 3D buildings in key travel markets which would serve as the foundation of the planned virtual travel destinations. In 2009, Google Earth™ announced the release of its API plug-in, which for the first time allowed users to view Google Earth™ within a web browser. With all the major building blocks in place, Team Vision Virtual obtained investment and set out to create a proprietary, web-based platform designed to empower the global community to interact with superior travel content in virtual 3D city environments. In June 2010, Team Vision Virtual launched 3DHawaii.com, the first of its planned 3D travel sites. The concept was so appealing that major clients such as Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Hyatt Regency Waikiki, Hilton Hotels & Resorts and the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center signed contracts well before the site went live. Team Vision Virtual is developing many new and exciting features and partnerships that it plans to announce over the next few months. The company has built a world-class team with offices in Hawaii and Seattle, and is now planning the launch of additional 3D travel destinations for later this year.
